Taken from Walter Rye’s Monographs of Norwich Hamlets series, which were published in 1917, this CD contains 83 pages of transcriptions from the churches and churchyards of Catton (1681-1916), Earlham (1663-1888), Eaton (1625-1864), Heigham (1630-1899) and Hellesdon (1428-1916). The election was taken on 2nd February 1714. There are 2 lists with 2 candidates on each list: Waller Bacon and Robert Britiff on the first and Robert Bene and Richard Berney on the second. The electors were drawn from the entire city of Norwich, plus a list of “Countrymen”, that is, those eligible to vote in Norwich who resided in the countryside. Price: £8.95 | |
| The Walloons & Their Church at Norwich, 1565-1832 by W. J. C. Moens. This is a facsimile reproduction on CD of a book that was first published in 1888 by W. J. C. Moens, an authority on the history of the Huguenots and other Protestant refugees to England. The Dutch and Flemish immigrants to Norwich were known as "the Strangers" and many became prominent in the life and work of that city.
